Job Description:

My client is looking for an economist. Their clients are independent system operators and a few individual utilities. Basically, those entities monitor electricity markets, and are independent advisors for them. The role would analyze the competitive performance of electricity markets, develop monitoring reports and testimony, investigate the conduct of buyers and sellers, and develop recommendations for market improvements. The position is located in Northern Virginia. The firm is relatively small. It’s a really good business, and a very good place to work.

Basic requirements: • Masters or greater in economics or related field • SAS programming ability; large data sets. • A couple of year’s prior experience at a consulting firm (energy industry preferred).
