Job Description:

Responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining program suites, primarily in SAS, in conjunction with and in support of biostatisticians and epidemiologists in the numerous projects underway at the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR). Responsibilities include: 1) Designing and developing project-specific SAS programs for biostatisticians, often producing analysis datasets, reports, or graphics; 2) SAS programming for data retrieval from ASCII datasets provided by the data management center; 3) implementing and testing cross-project SAS programs; 4) development of utilities for QC/QA and analyses; 5) serving on an internal CBAR committee.The programmer will assist in creating a database infrastructure while assisting biostatisticians and epidemiologists to create analysis datasets and reports. Basic knowledge of statistics, experience with data cleaning (in particular clinical trials data), and solid SAS programming skills are all preferred. PLEASE NOTE: This position is grant funded through 5/31/2013.

Required Skills:

Minimum of Bachelor's degree, preferably in Math, Computer Science, or Statistics. One year of programming experience preferred in either SAS or a similar statistical software or programming language, ideally in clinical trials.
