Job Description:    Would working with data from some of the most well known educational assessments in the US excite you? The College Board, a national educational organization, known for the SAT, PSAT and Advanced Placement programs, is conducting a search for an Information Analyst for our Enterprise Information Management department who will be resident in our New York City office. This job will offer the opportunity to work with data from all of our most known products. Position Summary The Information Analyst will provide information and analyses for both internal and external constituents. The Information Analyst will participate in the planning, development and testing of large-scale information and reporting solutions. The Analyst will undertake projects to pilot strategic analyses using existing and new data sources, develop parameterized reports and position them to be incorporated into enterprise platforms. The Analyst will leverage available information assets and understand key performance indicators to identify appropriate metrics, discover trends and provide summaries of analyses in concise executive views. SQL, experience with data analysis and reporting and skills in SAS or Cognos are required. Responsibilities Participate in the planning, development, deployment and testing of large-scale information and reporting solutions with a focus on defining and promoting consistent data and reporting standards Generate parameterized, standard reports and perform ad-hoc analyses Monitor and discover trends with particular emphasis on those impacted by new product releases, operational changes and new data collection techniques Pilot strategic analyses using existing and new data sources, of both internal and external origin, and position them to be incorporated into enterprise platforms Understand the needs of internal and external information stakeholders and identify opportunities to meet those needs as the College Board’s data capabilities and systems advance Design data flow diagrams; develop business requirements for new data projects and efforts and write scope documents. Generate detailed, complex analyses and provide concise, insightful executive summaries Develop and execute plans to perform critical user acceptance testing and quality control essential to the deployment of reports and business information solutions mappings

Platform:   

Required Skills:    Qualifications B.A., Master’s degrees in mathematics, statistics, or computer science preferred. Several years of demonstrated proficiency with data analysis and reporting required. Experience should include strong SQL or Cognos skills and some experience with project documentation and the design of process and data flow diagrams Requirements Demonstrated proficiency with SQL Strong knowledge of relational database systems, data structures and data modeling concepts Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience providing information, reports and analyses Experience with SAS or Cognos Experience with Visual Basic and MS Visio desired Knowledge of statistics and measurement principles
