Job Description:    Our client, a research based, pharmaceutical giant, corners an estimated 7% of the world’s pharmaceutical market with their innovative medicines and products that help millions around the world. They are seeking a Senior or Principal Programmer Analyst for the Neurosciences MDC Analytic Sciences department at their site in South East England. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include: • Working on clinical projects to provide technical input to study or project teams • Creating analysis-ready data sets and data displays • To work closely with statisticians and data managers as well as working independently to perform and coordinate programming duties. • To work with staff in the other internal departments and outsourced operations to help review and prioritize workload. • Acting as coordinator and contact for outsourced programming and reporting work. • Developing and provide programming and reporting training to staff. • Being able to act as a mentor or supervisor for more junior and contract staff

Required Skills:    QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: • Bachelors degree or equivalent with a significant level of education or training in computer programming • Previous experience working as a Programmer in the pharmaceutical industry or contract research organization, including experience in analysing and reporting clinical trials • Good understanding of the clinical trials process • Experience in aggregating data across multiple studies for the purpose of regulatory submissions as well as scientific and publication activities • Experience of working in the UNIX environment.

Desired Skills:    • Knowledge of CDISC, both SDTM and AdaM, would be advantageous • Preferred qualifications/experience include; Neurosciences therapeutic area, programming in SAS STAT, S+ or SAS Graph • Familiarity with creating CRT packages for regulatory submissions would also be advantageous PERSONAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES: • Excellent SAS programming skills including SAS Macro language • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • A demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team
