Job Description:    The Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology offers assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional and developmental disorders on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Our psychologists have special expertise in providing psychological care of children with acute and chronic illnesses. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Work with researchers and research coordinators to ascertain data needs for research studies. 2.Act as a liaison between research team, IT professionals, and analysts to create analysis data sets for research purposes. 3.Design and test data collection tools. 4.Build and maintain data dictionaries for division and study databases. 5.Develop and implement a comprehensive data quality program for research studies. 6.Ensure global clinical data management best practices and knowledge thereof in a standardized, transparent, and efficient manner. Assume responsibility as a partner for the planning, resourcing, and execution of relevant internal and external data management activities to obtain ¿clean¿ databases within a specified timeframe. 7.Maintain data quality for research studies. 8.Oversee the accuracy of data entry functions. 9.Design and build eCRFs and edit checks, oversee validation process. 10.Coordinate data transfers, data reconciliation. 11.Develop knowledge and professional skills through continuing education, cross training, literature and attendance at departmental meetings. 12.Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas of approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions. 13.Ensure that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective and efficient environment for employees, patients and families. Attend required Cincinnati Children¿s training sessions, including radiation safety, laboratory safety, blood borne, pathogens and OSHA. Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures. 14.Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency. 15.Understands, adheres to and models Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically with the department/unit. 16.Perform other duties as assigned to facilitate smooth functioning of the center. 17.Follow policies and procedures governing the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children¿s mission and applicable laws and regulations. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information. 18.Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency. 19.Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature and seminars. Implement this knowledge into the department. Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross-training, and attendance at department meetings. 20.Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions. 21.Attend required Cincinnati Children¿s training sessions, including radiation safety, laboratory safety, bloodborne pathogens and OSHA. Required Skills:    EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Required: -Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, management information systems, quantitative analysis or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience. -1 year experience developing and manipulating small to medium databases, using Visual Basic, SAS and/or SPSS and cleaning and managing data for multiple projects. REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to organize and define problems, develop strategies, solutions and recommend action plans for research data management. Analytical and statistical ability sufficient to evaluate data, make judgments and recommendations regarding data management and quality. Experience performing basic statistical analysis including frequency distributions, graphical displays and descriptive statistics. Demonstrates analytical skills as well as accuracy and attention to detail. Possesses strong computer and word processing, spreadsheet statistical, and database software application skills (Microsoft Office, Visual Basic, Business Objects, Access, SAS or SPSS). Have a working knowledge of tools to build simple databases and electronic data collection tools. Be able to develop ad hoc queries for simple data retrieval. Ability to set and achieve goals and manage multiple projects. Ability to adapt to a complex organizational environment. Must possess a high level of organizational and work flow efficiency skills and be capable of working well independently. Ability to work in a team atmosphere as well as one-one-one. Leadership ability required to engender cooperation, confidence and respect. Capable of relating to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Demonstrates strong work initiative; organized and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
