Description: Health outcomes position within Managed Care Division of GlaxoSmithKline. Position will focus on managed care payer analytics to support business efforts and on research and applications supporting health management/quality initiatives including evidence-based medicine, care delivery models, disease management, health care policy, technology, etc. Position will emphasize the application of health outcomes research/techniques to engage and support front-line managed care business needs including both internal and external customers. Details: Lead/Manage observational research and payer analytics including strategy, design, and analysis. Develop and execute analysis plans for applied research using administrative claims data and other health care data sources including surveys and electronic records many of which are internal resources. Engage internal groups within GSK including Managed Care Teams, Brand Marketing and Public Policy to develop research and/or analyses that aid in strategic planning or that may be deployed or conducted jointly with external customers. Engage external customers/key thought leaders to develop and deliver health management-based research, tools and messages that help drive appropriate and efficient patient care. Evaluate, select, and manage external research organizations, contractors, and vendors where needed to further research/health management efforts. Present outcomes and observational analytic results to both internal and external customers and in formal scientific forums. Prepare study results for manuscript submission to peer reviewed journals and manage efforts to build approved resources for account teams to share with external customers.

Platform:

Required Skills:

Advanced degree and work experience (>4 years) in health outcomes research, health services research, public health or related field. Clear understanding of managed care environment including reimbursement, pharmacy management, quality/care management and data processing.

Desired Skills:

Ph.D. in relevant field or PharmD with outcomes experience; prior managed care and clinical/disease management experience.
