Job Description:

Description: Health analytic position within Managed Care Division (PPIC) of GlaxoSmithKline directly utilizing SAS/SQL programming with administrative claims data and other health care data sources including surveys and electronic records. Position will primarily focus on managed care payer analytics to support business efforts but will also be involved in research and applications supporting health management/quality initiatives including evidence-based medicine, care delivery models, disease management, health care policy, technology, etc. Details: Conduct observational analyses and research primarily using administrative claims aimed at aiding internal GSK managed market strategies including product access and contracting. Collaborate with departmental staff and other internal groups within PPIC including Payer Value Marketing, Account teams and Pricing/Contracting to identify strategic needs, develop analytic plans to meet those needs and communicate results, messages and strategic insight. Prepare and present formal analytic/research findings internally and potentially externally with payer customers or in formal scientific forums. Must be adept at using administrative claims data through SAS/SQL to achieve business objectives and possess good written and verbal communication skills. Must have a basic understanding of managed care markets and health outcomes and be efficient at managing/conducting numerous projects with shifting priorities across multiple disease states and varying areas of focus.

Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience (>4 years) utilizing SAS/SQL to assess administrative claims in a health care capacity. We will interview for a clear understanding of managed care environment including reimbursement, pharmacy management, quality/care management and data processing.

Desired Skills:

Advanced degree in health outcomes, public health, economics and prior managed care experience
