JOB SUMMARY: In this role you will be responsible for preparing complex clinical, financial, and utilization reports and analyses that support the business units. This position will also include creating prototype processes, algorithms, and systems that drive business decisions. In addition, you will create business requirements and technical specifications and works closely with project team(s), other Informatics team members and internal participants (i.e., sales, pricing, IT, etc.) to ensure technical (analytic and/or computing) compatibility and integration where needed. Additional responsibilities include the following: • Design and implements new analytic models and methodologies for assessing patient outcomes, studying cost and utilization trends and other decision support activities. • Utilizes data including, but not limited to, medical and pharmacy claims, laboratory results, health risk assessments, member eligibility and operational clinical systems. • Performs special studies, computer simulations, statistical testing and projects to solve unique problems / questions identified by middle/senior management, business partners and clients. • Responsible for the issue definition, requirements gathering, analysis design, statistical testing, results interpretation and discussion of findings with our internal clients (online, written or verbal). QUALIFICATIONS: We seek an experienced Analyst with previous research experience along with the following qualifications: •3+ years of SAS (BASE, MACRO and STAT) programming experience. SAS and SAS/SQL programming/analysis skills at an advanced level. Experience working with RDBMS and normalized / de-normalized data structures. •Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems. •Demonstrated ability to support multi-departmental projects. •Understanding of health care medical and pharmacy claims data manipulation and analysis. •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret results of query analyses. •Advanced technical skills involving tool selection, system implementation (large/complex), statistical modeling and simulations. •Advanced data and statistical analysis, results interpretation and presentation. •Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytic field (e.g., computer science, statistics). •Ability to work under tight deadlines in a highly dynamic environment.

Desired Skills:

Preference will be given to those applicants with the following skills / abilities. •Medical informatics / econometrics experience. •Underwriting / risk analysis experience. •Audit experience. •Masters degree in a technical or analytic field.
