Job Description:    Senior Operations Analyst - Description I. Job Summary Develop, maintain, analyze, and interpret data to drive continuous improvement in Operations by applying proven techniques for analysis - locating, defining, reporting, and modeling existing sources of data across multiple applications and data warehouses. This would include and not limited to support of productivity and data improvement initiatives within Maintenance and Collection Operations. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. . Define, document, maintain, and update data dictionary and mapping between legacy applications, data warehouse, and reporting systems to support standard metrics definitions. . Lead efforts to create consistent and clear definitions for measures and source data . Develop requirements and implement systems and methods for integrated measurement system based on statistical analysis and operational models developed to optimize and improve performance at all levels of the business. . Conduct research and analysis and develop experimental methodologies. Partner with field and corporate groups focused on understanding cost, quality, customer service and work volumes in terms meaningful to each line of business: commercial, residential, industrial, recycling and others as necessary. . Develop "self service" reporting environment along with web-based tools for business analysis that will allow all groups to have a clear and consistent view of data and metrics that allow for understanding current performance, and continuous improvement opportunities. . As necessary lead corporate project teams to research, analyze, make recommendations, and implement solutions related to unit productivity/performance, unit/process costs, and system enhancements, data quality improvement efforts. . Communicate results with field and corporate groups to drive focus on improvement opportunities. III. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience Required: . Bachelors Degree . Experience in business analysis, statistical research and modeling, corporate reporting through legacy systems including localized spreadsheets or Access databases, relational database design, project management and process/system design. . Minimum of 2-5 years experience in similar function. Preferred: . Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business or Engineering . Fleet or waste collections business experience/acumen preferred including vehicle/asset management, vehicle maintenance/repair, automotive inventory, route optimization/scheduling. . Previous experiencing managing and analyzing large data sets for multi-site network/supply chain preferred . Expert modeling and reporting skills (Excel &Access) With data mining experience from multiple systems and data bases. . Strong Operations Finance background preferred. . Supply Chain Logistics, Transportation experience for a top Manufacturer or Distribution company preferred. C. Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills or Abilities . Computer programming (SAS, Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL), HTML and XML, JAVA, Brio, Crystal); . MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project at advanced level or higher, Visio . Ability to advance with in the Operations or Finance area.
